Transmission fluid is often referred to as the hardest working fluid in your car. It is responsible for:
- lubricating hundreds of moving parts in your transmission
- serving as a coolant to reduce the tremendous temperatures created in normal use
- keeping the transmission clean and free of contaminants
- maintaining the hydraulic properties that allow your transmission to shift properly under constantly changing conditions.

The automatic transmission in your car is essentially a gigantic hydraulic pump. It uses transmission fluid to transfer engine torque to the drive wheels through a "torqueconverter" to a series of valves and pumps to control fluid flow and pressure. As with the other fluid systems on your car, much is expected of this fluid and it deteriorates rapidly with heat, contaminants and oxidation, it will tend to thicken over time and not flow as needed and reduce the efficiency of this unit, as well as shorten its useful life.
Over time your transmission fluid loses its ability to perform. If the fluid is left in beyond its useful life, wear and deterioration of the bearings, clutches, and other internal components will result. Eventually the transmission will fail and require overhaul or replacement. The cost of a transmission rebuild can be from $5,000to $10,000, and even higher on some cars.
A Transmission Flush should be done every 30,000 to 40,000km as part of routine maintenance. At Kian Teong Auto with the most advanced equipment that allows us to replace every bit of the fluid in the complete transmission. It also flushes out any impurities that could contaminate the new fluid, leaving the transmission with fluid as clean as the day it was new.
We can:
• Add and circulate transmission flush to dissolve gums and varnish
• Use flush machine to pump out old fluid and pump new fluid into transmission
• Add transmission conditioner to improve shifting and extend fluid life
• Top off with proper type and amount of fluid for your car
